References External links Internet coverage Hey folks. A little about me: I'm a video game designer with a degree in Middle East studies. For a while now I've been looking to combine my interest fields, and a few weeks ago I went and downloaded Special Force 2, a recruitment game created by Hezbollah (a quasi-state actor in Lebanon) back in 2007.
The game is fascinating on many, many levels - from the way that it glorifies Hezbollah fighters, I translated the game from Arabic and put up a few analytical Let's Plays - here's one: I've also written up an article on my company's website: For me the interesting takeaway from all this is that not that Special Force 2 is blatantly propaganda (it is) but how easy it is to forget that most war games that we play are barely any deeper or more careful when addressing such a grizzly topic. Generally speaking Americans criticized Hezbollah for making a hateful propaganda game, but we seem fine with playing World War 2 games and fighting one dimensional enemies in Nazi Germany or Japan.
Just my two sense - I hope you all find this interesting. TD;DR: I wrote a blog and made a Let's Play video series on the propaganda game, Special Force 2 and I think it's an interesting topic. Edit: this is my first post on the forums in a long while.
Not sure if it was appropiate to mark it as a 'question' post, or how to fix it. Dragonfly signed an agreement with Asiasoft to bring to 3 countries in SEA. The 3 countries are Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. This cooperation means that Special Force 2 officially expands its overseas adventure. BEIRUT, Lebanon (Reuters) - Raid Israel to capture soldiers, battle tanks in the valleys of southern Lebanon and launch Katyusha rockets at Israeli towns - a new Hezbollah computer game puts players on the frontline of war with the Jewish state. 'Special Force 2' is based on last year's 34-day conflict between the Lebanese guerrilla group and Israel. 'This game presents the culture of the resistance to children: that occupation must be resisted and that land and the nation must be guarded,' Hezbollah media official Sheikh Ali Daher said. But Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev responded by saying: 'It should come as a surprise to no one that Hezbollah teaches children that hatred and violence are positive attributes.'
' Designed by Hezbollah computer experts, players of 'Special Force 2' take the role of a Hezbollah fighter, or Mujahid. Weapons and points are accumulated by killing Israeli soldiers. The game, launched on Thursday, recreates key phases of the conflict, which was triggered when forces raided northern Israel and captured two soldiers, saying they wanted to negotiate a prisoner swap. Hezbollah takes huge pride in its military performance in the war, which killed 158 Israelis, mainly soldiers. Some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, were killed in Lebanon.
Says Hezbollah was weakened in the conflict, in which the group was forced out of its strongholds along the Israeli border and an expanded international peacekeeping force deployed in southern Lebanon under a U.N.-brokered cease-fire. Hezbollah, a Shiite Muslim group backed by Iran and Syria, declared the outcome of the conflict a 'divine victory.' 'Through this game the child can build an idea of some of. The most prominent battles and the idea that this enemy can be defeated,' Daher said. The game retails at about in Lebanon and is produced by volunteers. Hezbollah is expecting strong demand for the game at home and abroad. Hundreds of copies have been reserved in advance in Lebanon.
The 3-D game forces players to think and use their resources wisely, reflecting the way Hezbollah fights, Daher said. 'The features which are the secret of resistance's victory in the south have moved to this game so that the child can understand that fighting the enemy does not only require the gun. 'It requires readiness, supplies, armament, attentiveness, tactics.'

Will North American players be able to play this version without Ip blocks once the NA version is shut down? EDIT: 'After 09/04 the Soldier Front 2 game service will be closed, this means that your SF2 accounts are no longer accessible/playable. We have been in contact with other publishers to pick up the North American license for SF2 but unfortunately there was no deal to be settled.
In short: a character transfer to SKILL is not possible after shut down. In my honest opinion I do not believe that another publisher will be willing to host the North American service for SF2 in the future - this sentence is not an official statement and should not be understood as one. ' Posted by of the NA version.
Maybe if there was support from the current players to welcome the NA players, gameforge might be willing to buy the rights for the NA version. //Mithi: title adjusted. Anyone who has heard of AeriaGames before, you can probably understand straight away why they let NA SF2 suffer.
Goanimate affiliate program. This option is great for businesses as it allows for infinite possibilities.
As of today, they officially announced the shutdown of NA SF2 with no other publisher support, this means all of our accounts will go away and no other SF2 version will stand for NA. For the official announcement thread, click to be re-directed to it.
I was a GameSage at AeriaGames SF2 for about a year, being a vital member in both event hosting, hacking/bug reporting, and various in-staff workings to help keep Soldier Front 2 running as smooth as possible. Sadly, the support from AeriaGames has always been brutally bad, they would take forever to payout events, they wouldn't support the competitive community except for small in-game item prizes (with no in-game advertising!), and in the last 3 months they had 0 staff hired to work on it. Since you guys started SKILL I have been immensely impressed by how its run, through content and the amazing support for the competitive community through ESL.
I tried to get Aeria to follow similar practices but they refused to adapt to anything different which eventually caused the death of SF2. We have wanted you to be our publisher for a long time, and this is a desperate call for help not only from me, a previous SF2 Founder, active community member, and GameSage, but from the entirety of the North American player-base.
You really have no reason to take us under your wing but I can assure you that the failure of NA SF2 wasn't because of lack of interest and money in the NA community but instead Aeria's lack of successful business practices. There are still plenty of dedicated players for NA SF2 and even more will come back if they heard that GameForge saved SF2 from the grave.
I'm not sure if anyone who can take action will see this, whether they will even take this into account is even less unknown but this is my last attempt to save SF2. I tried my hardest the year I was a GS for SF2 and now that SF2 is on its last 4 weeks of life, I will try one last time to give NA players the chance to experience SF2 at its full potential, and that lies with GameForge. Zimuus, Former NA SF2 GS and Founding Member. I would like to start off with hello ^^.
I been playing SF2 NA since a month after it open, i am a semi comp/pubstar, and rank 108 atm. All the time i spent on the game and then Aeria saying it is closing time really made me sad but didn't shock me.
Microsoft Windows
Even if we are not allow to play S.K.I.L.L most then likely a vast majority of people from NA will get vpn and still play causing lag as a casualty. So if they add a sever for us like Zimuus said it would help us to get back on are favorite game and not cause the rest of the EU players to experience lag at are expense. It would definitely be awesome if GF decides to somehow do something in response to the closure of NA SF2.
Although I would like a full transfer of the accounts and fully merge with SKILL SF2, it is most likely not possible and I don't think anyone would blame you for it. Again, however, it would be awesome if GF decides to expand to CAN/US especially for those that love the game.Arkragon an ex-GS for NA SF2 While it would definitely be a huge shame to lose our accounts (and all my beautiful skins) I would be happy enough to have the ability to play SF2 again.
It is bad news for SF2 NA Players that the game will be shutting down, but this is also an opportunity for GameForge to take over and merge the NA player base into their game, which will eventually lead to greater profits for the company. The game was promising, but due to the horrible support and lack of interest shown in the game by AeriaGames, the game is being shutdown, despite the great effort made by the GS Staff to keep it alive. It was not due to the lack of player base or their dedication to support the game, instead it was AeriaGames fault that the game has got to a point where it needs to be shut down. So, now there are a lot of players that want to continue to playing this game, thus GameForge has the opportunity to attract these players to their game than having them move on to other games. Some are concerned about how merging the NA players may cause lag issues, but GameForge can easily set up North American servers in which they can play without having to interfere with the Europe servers. Of course somethings will need to be tweaked but seeing how GameForge has handled SF2 so far, it should not be a problem.
Not only will GameForge save Soldier Front 2 for the North American players, but it will have also expanded it's business, thus a win-win situation. GameForge will be able to rake in greater profits and increase it's player base, while the North American players can finally play Solider Front 2 at its max potential. So please consider this opportunity, but the time is limited, so decision would need to be made in a timely manner. Wrecknize-. Personally have been spending quite some time playing SF2 NA Version and this game has so much potential. It seems like GameForge has taken good care of their version and the competition is a lot better here.
Hezbollah Special Forces
It would be awesome for you guys to support the NA Version and allow us to play the game. Lot of players have been waiting for this and you won't regret it! Game is already in place, all what would be needed is to add support for an NA Server. More income for the publisher and more competition for tournaments! Aeria SF1 GameSage.

Special Force is a first person shooter that gives you a clear objective throughout the entire game, even though there are only three levels. At the end of each level you will have to beat the boss in order to take him down and advance to the next level. Besides the boss monsters you will also encounter all kinds of other enemies, including even humans that still must be killed. You will have to move fast in order to protect yourself from the enemies and you will have to shoot even faster in order to take them down once and for all. KiaRioClub.ru ©.
